Dear Parents,
As we welcome March 2025, we’re excited to share some important updates and changes at Young Riders Childcare Centre. Since taking over in February, we have been working on making improvements to enhance your child’s learning experience. Here’s what’s happening this month:
Transition to a More Structured Learning Approach
We are shifting from a purely play-based model to a more structured learning environment with planned academic and play activities. This transition will include changes to our, curriculum, learning materials and classroom setup. These adjustments will be introduced gradually to ensure a smooth transition for the children.
In March, we will be working on learning how to be good friends, showing kindness, and like always using gentle hands. We will continue to work on recognizing our emotions and how to express them. This month, we will celebrate spring, friendships, and kindness. Through art and craft activities, we’ll explore these important themes while fostering creativity and connection.
We will modify our daily schedule to incorporate more structured learning and play activities:
- 7:00 – 8:30 AM: Quiet, independent play at tables with toys and learning materials.
- 9:00 AM: Morning snack/breakfast.
- 9:30 AM: Circle time.
- 10:00 AM: Daily planned activity, which will align with age-appropriate learning goals and special themes.
- 11:00 AM: Outdoor playtime for one hour.
Special Events & March Holidays
- Spring Celebration (March 20th): Children are encouraged to wear bright spring colors.
- St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th): Children are encouraged to wear green.
- Spring Break (March 18-28): Understanding that many parents continue to work during Spring Break, we will remain open this year and welcome children as usual.
